STUDIO CITY (CBSLA.com) ? Joanelle Romero, producer of the 9th Annual Red Nation Film Festival and Awards Gala visited the KCAL9 studios Tuesday to talk about the upcoming event!
The festival will be held Nov. 7 ? 14 at various locations throughout Los Angeles.
Founded in 1995, Red Nation Celebration (RNC) is the nation?s oldest American Indian Arts & Culture organization. Where Culture Meets Community RNC is a federally recognized 501 (c) (3) non-profit American Indian arts organization established to present contemporary and traditional American Indian performing arts of diverse artistic disciplines. To encourage understanding of cultural traditions, performing arts, preservation, and the advancement of American Indian, Alaska Native and Indigenous Nations.
RNC founded Red Nation Film Festival & Awards in 2003, The Authentic Voice of American Indian & Indigenous Cinema, is dedicated to breaking the barrier of racism by successfully replacing American Indian stereotype with recognition, new vision, arts, culture and economic prosperity by placing American Indian Filmmakers at the forefront of the entertainment industry and to introduce American Indian Filmmakers to larger, global mainstream audiences while establishing relations between the American Indian community and the entertainment industry.
The festival benefits the Native Youth Matter program.
