Review electronic systems (security, fire, etc.) for new construction and remodeling projects on the West Lafayette and regional campuses. Serve as consultant on other electronic systems (design, troubleshooting, construction, application, etc.). Work in conjunction with other Physical Facilities areas to establish University standards for electronic construction, materials and operation. Work with State and/or regional frequency coordinators. Serve as the University Federal Communications Commission (FCC) liaison. Evaluate and approve requisitions for radio transmitters, pagers, etc. Value diversity by working effectively with people from different viewpoints and backgrounds.

Required:

• Associate's degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or related area.
• Four years of electronic systems design and/or estimating experience.
• Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of related education and required work experience.
• Knowledge of electronic and electrical theory.
• Must have knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning and resource allocation.
• Must have a high standard of integrity, performance and professional behavior.
• Strong work organizational skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Valid driver's license.

Preferred:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Electrical Engineering Technology.
• Knowledge of National Fire Protection Code (NFPA 72) and networked communications systems.
• Knowledge of Federal Communications Commission (FCC) licensing, modification and renewal procedures.
