Job Description
Real pride. Real advantage.An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Communications Advisor based in Lincolnshire, onsite at RAF Coningsby. Supporting the head of communications, you will provide relevant communications resource to support Typhoon, Tornado and Hawk programmes across the relevant RAF bases under the Military Air & Information organisation.
This is a high profile position where you will take responsibility for managing and delivering the internal and external communications for MA&I's on base activities. You will liaise closely with a diverse range of senior stakeholders both internal and external to the organisation, as such the ability to take responsibility and influence will be pivotal to the success of the role. Genuine opportunities exist in the long term for high performers.
As the Communications Advisor your main responsibilities will involve:
? Identifying, sourcing, and producing exciting and engaging communications about MAI's operations on RAF bases.
? Generating positive media coverage locally, nationally and with key trade publications.
? Providing communications support to BAE Systems senior management on RAF bases.
? Communications input into specific customer and BAE Systems events as and when required.
? Improving the reputation of BAE Systems with key local stakeholders through effective public affairs activity
? Ensuring relevant product 'core data' is kept current and easily accessible e.g. web pages, fact sheets, boiler plates, lines to take etc.
In support of the above ensure communications specialist skills and advice (e.g. media, employee communications, brand & promotions and public affairs) are available to the relevant internal stakeholders.
As the Communications Advisor your skills and qualifications will ideally include:
Degree qualified in a relevant discipline or equivalent experience.
Previous communications experience, both internal and external - Essential.
Pro-active media relationship building experience - Essential
Defence and RAF knowledge - Desirable
Senior stakeholder management experience - Essential
